Clare’s lifelong passion for art began early, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Photography at just 17, followed by a Graduate Bachelor of Secondary Education. Her career took her to London, where she spent six years teaching in some of the city’s most challenging schools, shaping young creative minds and honing her craft.
Returning to Australia, Clare continued her teaching journey in Brisbane for more than two decades, specialising in Visual Arts, Film, Photography and TV/Media. Alongside her teaching career, she embraced creative opportunities as a freelance photographer, theatre backdrop and prop designer and a website creator.
Driven by entrepreneurial spirit and artistic curiosity, Clare spent a decade owning and operating the acclaimed “Painted Lady Tattoo Studio,” a venture sparked by her travels to Thailand to learn the art of tattooing.
Now settled on the beautiful Fraser Coast, Clare continues to create and inspire. She has published two non-fiction books and, in late 2025, launched her newest creative endeavour — Howard Art Hub.
Howard Art Hub is a welcoming art and craft space offering monthly themed workshops, creative birthday parties for children and adults, and unique sip-and-paint experiences. With her wealth of artistic expertise and passion for fostering creativity, Clare is dedicated to providing a vibrant community space where imagination and learning thrive.
Clare holds a current Blue Card, is CPR trained, and is fully insured to ensure a safe, welcoming space for all.
